I just looked at my blog and realized that a whole lot of time has passed since I last posted an entry. I could make all sorts of excuses (travel, writing my next book, spending time with our grands, preparing our condo for sale, the list goes on and on).
But excuses are just that, excuses, right?
I can come up with an excuse for not exercising on a given day, for not writing when I should be writing every day, for not marketing my books (also something that should be a daily task), for not cleaning, for not ... ).
If excuses aren't real, then what purpose do they serve? I mean, why make excuses? Is it due to fear, laziness, procrastination, boredom, poor time management, feeling overwhelmed with everything going on in your life, being tired, just not feeling like it, or some/all of the above? I'm sure I missed some reason or another...you can fill in that particular blank for your own circumstance of giving excuses. :)
Are these just excuses too?
If not, why not just give the real reason instead of taking the time to make up an excuse?
Hmmmm...things to ponder for sure.
Bottom line for not writing since October (yikes!)...pick any of the above. Personally, I'd say poor time management which led to feeling overwhelmed.
It's funny...when I am pressed to get something done, I can crank it out. Maybe the key is to always have that pressure to get it done. Hmmmm...more to ponder.
I am so grateful to everyone who takes the time to check out my blog (and other areas of my website) that I commit to being more diligent about blogging regularly from this point forward.
In the meantime, here are a few pictures from our recent cruise on the Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's newest and largest ship. We had a blast!!
Take care and God bless!
