Hello again and happy new year! I still can't believe we're more than 2/3 into January...I say this every year, but where did the time go?
How was your holiday? Did you celebrate with family and friends? How about the new year? Do you typically stay up until midnight? What was your most memorable new years' celebration?
We went on a 5 1/2 week road trip from 12Dec-19Jan. Spent an early Christmas in San Antonio with our kids and grandkids (always a ton of fun!), visited Jose's siblings in Corpus Christi, then drove to AZ to spend Christmas, New Years, and a couple more weeks with my stepmom. Jose and Russelle always have fun working on projects in the yard while I'm mostly inside organizing her office and stuff.
As far as New Years is concerned, when we lived in Texas, we'd stay up until the ball dropped in NYC, which meant we could go to bed at 11:00pm. We party hearty, don't we!?! (LOL!) In Arizona, we could actually go to bed at 10:00pm.
Our most memorable new years was in Las Vegas, probably 15 years ago. We stayed in our timeshare and took the shuttle to the Strip around 10pm. Walked around and gambled a little (I play craps once in awhile, watching what the person with the largest amount of chips bets on and I'll bet my little $5 chip the same way). I think I made $60 which thrilled me!
At 11:55pm, everyone poured out of all hotels onto the street. The Strip had been shut down to traffic. It was packed! There was laughter and excitement, and a general feeling of good will. At midnight, every hotel shot fireworks from their rooftops. It was loud, you could feel the boom, boom, boom in your chest. So incredible and crazy and wild! We loved every minute!!
We returned to our timeshare shortly after that. I'm so glad we did it, but once was definitely enough. :)
However you spent your holiday and new years, I hope it was fabulous and I wish you an amazing 2026 full of joy, laughter, adventure, and love.
Did I mention that we took our cats with us on our road trip? They're very sweet.

Happy trails everyone! Until next time...
