The Lights of Christmas

One of the things I love about Christmas are the lights and other decorations that bring joy to all who see them. From houses decked out with lights along their roofline and inflatables on their lawns, efforts that cities make to celebrate the season with their wreaths and lights, Christmas trees decorated with lights and beautiful ornaments in homes, electric snow globes with scenes of Christmas, and gardens that decorate for their visitors, how can one not smile and exclaim in wonder and joy when viewing it all!?!

I know that as we drive around and look at houses or enjoy decorations in our sweet town of Conway, SC, I wear a silly grin on my face. I can't help it. It's truly wondrous to me!! And it's all to celebrate what's to come on the 25th! So incredible!

The best Christmas light display I've ever seen is the Night of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. We've gone every year for the past 9 or 10 years and it never disappoints. Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet is such a beautiful place to go anytime of the year but their lights during the Christmas season are breathtaking.

I hope you have an opportunity to drive around and enjoy some of the joys of the season in your part of the world. It serves as a reminder that even in hard times there is reason to be grateful. And it all leads up to the birth of Christ, the best part of Christmas.

Below are some of my favorite pictures from this year...

I hope you enjoyed these pictures. If you ever have the opportunity to go to Brookgreen Gardens for their Night of a Thousand Candles, go!

And I hope, as Christmas nears, you cherish the time with your family and friends and appreciate why we celebrate this holiday. Wishing you blessings and love at this time and always.
