I love Christmas! I love celebrating the birth of Jesus! He is ever-present and I am grateful for that. I love watching our 6 grandkids open their presents with such joy and gusto! It's especially fun when I know we've done well with the gift-giving (not always easy with teens). I love decorating the tree! I have Christmas decorations in a few places around the house (I used to wrap the pictures on the wall like presents and decorate almost the entire house...not anymore). I also love all of the smells - pine, cinnamon, pumpkin, the grease of the ribeye as it sizzles on the grill. Hmmmm...my mouth is watering.
The first album I listen to, and have listened to for as long as I can remember, is Johnny Mathis' Christmas album. No one sings those songs like he does. And it always brings back warm memories of my childhood because that's what Mom always played. What is the first Christmas album you play?
Our Christmas dinner with the kids/grands has become a tradition - Alaskan King Crab and some rib-eye steaks (mainly because I don't eat crab), plus all the usual sides. The kids look forward to it all year long and it's a gorge-yourself-then-unzip-your-pants-to-make-room-for-more kind of meal. :)
