When you gotta go...

It's been awhile since I've written, and a lot has happened in the last 2 weeks. We went back to the same dude ranch in AZ that we visited last year (and had a fabulous time!), we left the ranch a day early to beat the worst of the storm that was engulfing Texas and other areas, and we spent almost a week in brutal weather dealing with rolling outages, no water, but absolutely beautiful snow!

I'll tell you all about our trip and the storm in future blogs. Today, I want to relay a funny little episode during our drive home from AZ. It was Sunday, 2/14/21.

We had no problems driving from Yucca, AZ, through Arizona and New Mexico and past El Paso, Texas. We were on IH-10 heading east. The weather started to affect us from Ft Stockton on. We drove in 4-wheel drive the entire way home, saw many 18-wheelers who had slid off the road. One even jack-knifed across the 2 eastbound lanes blocking most of both lanes. We were stuck there for awhile. Jose helped the driver of the 18-wheeler open his door (he had stepped out of the vehicle to look at his truck and in that very short time his door iced shut). We also gave a driver who was out of gas and very cold a pair of gloves and some food until he could get help.

The inevitable occurred and I had to go to the bathroom. It's not like I could just step out of the truck and go, too many people around, not to mention the fact that it was 19 degrees outside and I didn't want to freeze my a$@ off, literally. (haha) I solved the problem by tossing the drink that was in my styrofoam cup out and crouching down low in the front seat. Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go. (Yes, I emptied the contents afterwards!)

I'm happy to say that my derriere stayed warm the entire time. Guys have it so easy sometimes! :)

We arrived home safe and before the worst of the storm hit (thank the good Lord for that!).
